Nairobi Day Safari – Wildlife & Culture Experience
Overview:
This one-day tour captures the essence of Nairobi’s unique status as the only city in the world with a national park right at its doorstep. Ideal for travellers with limited time, this Nairobi day safari offers a remarkable opportunity to encounter Kenya’s rich wildlife and cultural heritage in just a few hours.
Itinerary Highlights
Nairobi National Park (6:30 AM – 11:00 AM)
Start your day with an early morning game drive at Nairobi National Park, home to lions, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, and over 400 bird species—all set against the backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline. It’s the best time to catch predators and herbivores in action before the heat sets in.
David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
Visit the famous Elephant Orphanage, where baby elephants rescued from the wild are raised and rehabilitated before being released back into the wild. Open only for one hour daily, this is a heartwarming and educational stop.
Giraffe Centre (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM)
Get up close and personal with the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. Feed them from an elevated platform and learn about the centre’s conservation efforts.
Lunch at Carnivore Restaurant or Local Spot (2:15 PM – 3:30 PM)
Enjoy a delicious lunch at Carnivore Restaurant—famous for its game meat—or opt for a relaxed local eatery offering Kenyan cuisine.
Bomas of Kenya OR Karen Blixen Museum (3:45 PM – 5:00 PM)
Choose between:
-
Bomas of Kenya: Experience Kenya’s diverse culture through traditional dances and homestead replicas.
-
Karen Blixen Museum: Step back in time and walk through the home of the author of Out of Africa.
