Day Three: Return to Kigali – Departure

Day One: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You’ll be met at Kigali International Airport by your guide, who will brief you and begin the journey northward. Enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive through rolling green hills and villages as you make your way to Volcanoes National Park. Time permitting, a short Kigali city tour will be included en route, featuring the Genocide Memorial and local craft markets. Arrive at your lodge near the park, check in, and relax for the evening with dinner served at the lodge.

Day Two: Gorilla Trekking Adventure

Start the day early with breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing. After being allocated to a gorilla family, embark on a guided trek through the forest in search of these incredible creatures. The hike can range from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location.

Once found, spend one unforgettable hour in the presence of the mountain gorillas, observing their interactions and behaviours. Afterwards, trek back and transfer to the lodge for a warm meal and relaxation. Optional: visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village in the afternoon (time and energy permitting).

Day Three: Return to Kigali – Departure

After breakfast, check out and enjoy a relaxed drive back to Kigali. Depending on your departure time, you may have the chance to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial (if not done on Day 1) or explore a few craft shops for souvenirs. You will then be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
