Detailed Itinerary

Day One: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park (Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise)

You will be met by your safari guide at 6:30 AM for a warm welcome and trip briefing before beginning the journey westward. Along the way, enjoy a memorable stop at the Equator for photos and light refreshments. The drive continues through the dramatic landscapes of the western Rift Valley, offering a glimpse of crater lakes and lush countryside.

By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park. After check-in and some relaxation at your lodge—beautifully perched on a bluff overlooking the Kazinga Channel and Lake Edward—you’ll head out for a two-hour boat cruise. This voyage along the Kazinga Channel offers one of the best wildlife spectacles in Africa, including large pods of hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and countless bird species at close range. It’s also a perfect opportunity for photographers.

Day Two: Game Drives in the Wild Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, set off for your first game drive through the Kasenyi plains. With the majestic Rwenzori Mountains as a backdrop, you may spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and more. The park’s rich habitat diversity supports an extraordinary variety of wildlife.

Return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, embark on a second game drive, exploring a different section of the park for more sightings and a new perspective of the savannah. Queen Elizabeth’s sprawling plains, tropical forests, crater lakes, and swamps provide a remarkable safari environment.

Day Three: Kyambura Gorge & Return to Kampala

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before checking out. On the way out of the park, make a scenic stop to view the dramatic Kyambura Gorge—a verdant chasm famous for its hidden chimpanzee population and unique vegetation. It’s a great spot for photographs and reflection.

Continue the return journey to Kampala, with a lunch stopover in Mbarara town. You’ll arrive in Kampala in the early evening, marking the end of your memorable wilderness escape.

Optional Extension: Day Four – Lake Mburo National Park (On Request)

For those seeking an extended adventure, we can include a stop at Lake Mburo National Park on your return journey. A morning game drive followed by lunch and a return to Kampala makes for a delightful add-on.
